The Atom

An Atom...everything on earth is made up of them. From toe hairs, to vomit and ckun spray, they'rea ll made up fo Atoms. Different kinds of atoms, but still atoms.

Did you every think however, that every atom is made up something as well? That in every atom, there is something smaller inside it?

An Atom consists of a Nucleus that is surrounded by zooming electrons which have a negative charge. Jiggling inside the Nuclues, are protons and neutrons. A proton has a Postitive charge while a Neutron is neutral and has no charge. (Neutron, Nuetral. Neither positive nor negative)You can remember that Protons have a positivbe charge by remembering that they both start with a P. For every Protons there is inside the nucleus, there must be a negative elctron zooming outside it to balance it out. If it is not balanced out, that atom would become either a positivly charged or negatively charged atom.

Atoms are classified by the number of Protons and Neutrons they consist of. An Atom with 1 proton would be classified as a Hydrogen atom. Some substances, such as water, consists of more than one atom put together forming a molecule.

Oxygen + Oxygen + Hydrogen = H20 (water)

Protons, Neutrons, and Electron destroy themselves emitting many different types of elements when they come in contact with Anti-matter. (Anti-proton, Anit-neutron, Anti-Electron)

Fermilab's partical accelerator's purpose is to smash Anti-Protons and Protons together to study the elements released. See Fermilab site
